About me
Hi! I’m Darren! I’m a Seventh-day Adventist Christian with a passion for sharing Jesus with the world. Some of my interests are piano and learning new languages. I have recently returned from a year of mission service in Southeast Asia, where I observed many different needs that people had. I met with people who struggled with many things that we don’t necessarily deal with every day, like extreme poverty or mosquito-borne illnesses. One need that I saw is the need for the mental and physical rejuvenation that comes through freedom in Christ. Many people have unspoken burdens that can only be released if they give their lives to Christ, and I have felt the call to spread the gospel to those who need to cast their burdens on Him. Counseling
Many people have suffered trauma and abuse in their lives, but since many cultures around the world operate on a dignity-shame paradigm and not a truth-falsehood paradigm, they are less willing to share their experiences with those who could help them because that would be shameful. Hence, many places have no capacity for counseling of any type. Jesus invites us to cast our burdens upon Him, so I have felt called to create an environment that enables people to share their struggles.
Education
Once people have shared their experiences and their burdens, they need to get advice from the Ultimate Counselor, Jesus. This is where the counselor becomes a missionary and a pastor, leading them to Jesus, the ultimate Healer. He desires to change lives in ways that are unimaginable to those who have hidden their struggles all their life. Bringing them to Jesus will help them understand how powerful Jesus’ love is, and they will love to learn of Jesus, too. That is where my role as a pastor and leader will be helpful in bringing them to understand Jesus’ love.
Make new disciple-makers
Understanding Jesus equips individuals to serve Him. I have felt God’s call to establish a school that prepares those healed in Christ to impact the world. This school will teach people how to make Jesus personal and experience the joys of serving God in various roles, such as teachers, evangelists, and doctors. My goal is to create a training environment where individuals can pursue their divine calling while deepening their knowledge of God.
The greatest want of the world is the want of men—men who will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true and honest, men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole, men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall.

In our journey, we encounter challenges that test our faith and commitment to the path set by Jesus. The opposition we face is a reminder of the importance of our choices and a measure of depth of our dedication. By praying together as a community, we can find strength and encouragement in unity. The task given us may seem daunting, but it’s through our collective prayers that we can strengthen each other to fulfill the remarkable plans that God has laid out for us. I am embarking on an educational path that holds the promise of preparing me to make a lasting difference in the world. God is leading me to start with a degree in religion and then to pursue additional training in psychology so that I can be equipped with a unique skill set that would enable me to effectively share the gospel and connect with people on a profound level.
I approach this journey with an attitude of anticipation for the boundless opportunities and transformative experiences God has prepared for me and the people I will one day serve. The invaluable lessons I learn today will forge the foundation upon which I will serve in the future, becoming a beacon of guidance and compassion in a dark and suffering world.
